Let’s get technical

Triax Fiberglass has 3 layers, this makes the board more energetic and delivers maximum power transfer to the edges.

1 of 7

Titanal is a technical material that stores energy. A metal alloy that provides smoothness, great dampening, and stability to our boards.

2 of 7
A dose of carbon that adds stiffness, liveliness, and more powerful rebound.
3 of 7

The center of a board with a mix of different (performance) zones made from FSC bamboo, beech and paulownia.

4 of 7

Pow Savers are extra inserts to set your bindings back and to transform your board into a powder board.

5 of 7

Biax Fiberglass is providing longitudinal stiffness with torsional forgiveness, for a stable and smooth feeling and easy turning.

6 of 7

The finished product is a superstrong, lightweight, and porous base. The porousness holds wax better and longer. Carbon and graphite additives make this base super-fast gliding too.

THE Tech highlights

Edge Lift Technology

Edge Lift Technology

Our boards are 3D pressed with a subtle lift (max. 1.5mm) of the base and edges at the corners. This raises the contact-points just off the snow. With THE Edge Lift Technology, you’re less likely to catch edges when riding. This makes it easier to make turns with more natural turn initiation and exit, you’ll have a smoother ride, more fun to learn new tricks, and it provides extra floatation in the powder.

Multi-Grip Technology

Multi-Grip Technology

Multi-Grip technology means extra contact points on the heel- and toe sides for extra grip in icy conditions. Think of it as snow-chains on your car tires. But Multi-grip technology is extremely subtle at just under 1mm bumps on the edges underneath your binding areas. It’s almost invisible to the naked eye and unnoticeable in softer snow, but it results in smooth rides with extra grip in harder snow.

THE Shape

Looking sideways: Cam Rock.
The Alfa has camber under the bindings and flat in between for stability and pop, without being too aggressive. The Alfa also has rocker in the nose and tail for easy turn initiation and exit. This wavy curved shape gives THE Alfa its versatility. It doesn’t focus on any specific terrain, but excels everywhere.

Looking down: Directional Twin. The nose and tail shape are the same in both directions, but the nose is longer than the tail because you’re standing a little back from the center. This makes THE Alfa very all-round, stable at any speed, and easy to turn.

Tech

If you’ve been riding for a while, you’ll know there are a lot of unique words and phrases used. Same goes when choosing the right board, but no worries, we’ve got your back. Discover below what all those flashy terms mean.

THE Alfa

A lightweight two- and three layer fiberglass wrap that provides strength. Fiberglass is a durable material that increases board life.

Triax Fiberglass has 3 layers, the main one is woven lengthwise (0º) and the 2 additional layers are woven at 30º angles. This makes the board more energetic and delivers maximum power transfer to the edges. Learn more

Titanal is a technical material that stores energy. A metal alloy that provides smoothness, great dampening, and stability to our boards. When you spend long days on the mountain, your board bends and twists. Titanal has isotropic properties, so it keeps its strength even when it’s bent in another direction.

Your board’s movements create energy that is stored in the Titanal Volt Plates. This creates an energy archive that’s released slowly. Resulting in a natural feeling of stability and smoothness. Titanal releases energy slower than, for example, carbon. Learn more

Stringers reinforce our boards. Made from original materials that have unique qualities. Our Stringers are placed at very specific areas on our boards in order to create the desired advantage.

A dose of carbon that adds stiffness, liveliness, and more powerful rebound. The stringers direct energy into focussed areas of the board. The Carbon Stringers provide stability at high speeds and maneuverability at low speeds. While the V-shaped stringers in nose and tail direct power to the contact points of the edges for optimum edge grip. Learn more

Bamboost Lite Core is the center of a board. It’s a mix of different (performance) zones made from FSC bamboo, beech and paulownia. Beech is a hardwood that provides stiffness to our boards.

Bamboo is lightweight and has great tensile strength giving flexibility and pop. The qualities of paulownia lie snugly between beech and bamboo. It’s very lightweight, but almost as strong as hardwood. Learn more

Pow Savers are extra inserts to set your bindings back and to transform your board into a powder board. When using the Pow Savers, your board’s nose will be longer and the tail shorter, meaning it’s much easier lifting the nose.

You’ll be glad for them when you wake up, and outside it’s covered in a fresh coat of powder. It also avoids back-leg burners and nose-dive cartwheels. Learn more

A lightweight two- and three layer fiberglass wrap that provides strength. Fiberglass is a durable material that increases board life.

Biax Fiberglass is woven lengthwise (0º) and at a 90º angle with the board, providing longitudinal stiffness with torsional forgiveness, for a stable and smooth feeling and easy turning. Learn more

The Graphite Carbon Sintered Base layer is made from crushed polyethylene pellets and pieces of carbon and graphite. By crushing them under high pressure, rather than melting, tiny gaps or pores are created.

The finished product is a superstrong, lightweight, and porous base. The porousness holds wax better and longer. Carbon and graphite additives make this base super-fast gliding too. Learn more

  1. Rieks Schippers

The Alfa 157 is a super easy board to ride. It’s lose and playful but on the edge it’s a beast. At high speed you have so much control and gives a ton of confidence back.
    “Ride with a smile”

  2. Jonas Rijkeboer

    Alfa 153, 176cm, 76kg.
Nothing for beginners. A beast in groomers, super stable in high speeds. And a perfect all around board.

  3. Wilco

  4. Nathan

Such a good allround board, especially in this price range. Wanted an easy forgiving board to add to my quiver. And while it is definitely a forgiving easy to rode board, it holds it’s own when you wanna hard charge it, that was pleasant surprise.
Great board that does what you expect, and more.

  5. Mattheus

Ga zo door The Boards Company!
